Fill'r Up

It's 115 degrees outside. My sandals crawled to the shade by themselves. A drop of perspiration fell from my forehead and evaporated before hitting the ground. Still I hear the voices of two little girls wanting to break free of the AC and run in the sun.

In my pocket is more lint than money. $2.00, that's the stash. What's a dad to do? The Schwepps video suddenly pops into my mind - water balloons - yeah....

With the precision of a German engineer, the water pressure is brought within optimal range for water balloon filling. Tiny fingers are guided through the process. Smiles are soon swelling like the neon skins of the balloons themselves, both filled with anticipation.

As with many things in life, the wait is where it's at. It's the journey that's full. Still in an effort to stretch the fun, the bucket of balloons was taken pool side. The water is much more forgiving than the grass. We shut off the pool pump and tossed away. What a blast. Though a better photographer may have 'gotten the shot' I was a little preoccupied being a target.

Hope your day brings as much fun. Enjoy the journey.

Grace & Peace,
JBL
